Trim Levels (Exterior)

A whopping nine trims are available for the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: WT (Work Truck), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, ZR2, and High Country. Engine (Power)

Four engines are available across the various trims. The base engine for the WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, and RST is a 2.7-liter turbo engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It puts out 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque. Upgrading to the LTZ trim features the well-known 5.3-liter EcoTec3 engine producing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The Custom Trail Boss is equipped with a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V-8 engine as its standard power plant and delivers 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The last engine is a Duramax turbodiesel engine producing 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

Performance

The most performant 1500 can tow a maximum of 13,000 pounds, more than enough power to tow a boat, ATV, camper, or work trailer. For most trims, rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive available. StabiliTrak with traction control keeps control no matter the conditions. Finally, the off-road-focused ZR2 adds a front/rear electronic locking differential, a high-approach bumper, and multimatic DSSV dampers.

Interior
