The Ford Explorer comes in five trim levels which allow drivers to customize their design to meet their individual preferences. Available trim levels include the Base, XLT, Limited, Sport, and Platinum. Drivers can also choose from an available 10 exterior color choices with options like the Oxford White and the White Platinum.

The exterior design of the Ford Explorer underwent a major redesign for the 2016 year, so you can expect minimal changes between the following models. The Ford Explorer exterior design features a dynamic, bold grille that efficiently directs airflow. Newly designed quad exhaust tips give the Ford Explorer a sportier look.

Drivers have three engine options available in the Ford Explorer. Standard is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Ford Explorer drivers can also upgrade to an available 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 engine with 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Finally, some trim levels come with the 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque.
