Trim Levels (Exterior)

After a full redesign in 2021, Ford has continued to improve the exterior design of the F-150. The 2023 model comes in six main trim levels, which are XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. Ford also offers three off-road-focused versions of the truck: Tremor, Raptor, and Raptor R. The Raptor R is a new addition to the lineup for 2023 and is the most well-equipped of the bunch to tackle rough terrain. You can further customize your truck with a choice of three cab styles and three bed lengths.

Standard exterior features on the XL trim include manually adjustable side mirrors, pre-wired trailer connections, and 17-inch steel wheels. The XLT adds power-adjustable mirrors, alloy wheels, and fog lights. With the higher trims, you can also get exterior upgrades like LED in-bed lighting, larger wheels, an upgraded class-IV trailer hitch, and power running boards.

Engine (Power)

The 2023 F-150 is available with a range of powertrain options. With the base model, you get a 3.3-liter V-6 engine that puts out 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Next up is a 2.7-liter turbocharged V-6 unit rated at 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. If that's not enough power, consider the 5.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.

Ford also offers a 3.5-liter turbocharged V-6 engine that pumps out 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. If fuel efficiency is a top priority, you may want to choose the PowerBoost hybrid powertrain, which bundles the 3.5-liter V-6 engine with a battery pack and electric motor. The combined output is 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. Ford offers several exclusive engines on the Raptor and Raptor R trims, including a new supercharged 5.2-liter V-8.
