It’s also the nation’s largest rose garden, spread over 14 acres with more than 600 varieties of roses to view. A few of the top spots within the gardens include the Meditation Garden, the Wagon Wheel Fountain, and the collections of daylilies and camellias. On your way out, be sure to stop at the arched yellow wall, the iconic original entrance to the garden that is the ideal place to snap a quick pic.

The downtown area of Tyler houses a number of historic structures that feature unique architectural styles and elements. These buildings are surrounded by gorgeous greenery and several murals painted by local and regional artists. The Train Depot is one of the more popular places to take photos, as it showcases a once-bustling station where people and cargo came in and out of the city on a regular basis. The Caldwell Zoo is another of Tyler’s gems, featuring new and upgraded attractions and exhibits that house various species of wild animals. One of these is the newly renovated African Overlook, where you can snap a photo in front of some of Africa’s most well-known animal species. If you like to take action shots, make a reservation to take part in one of the animal encounters at the zoo. The two options are penguin encounters and reptile encounters, both of which take you behind the scenes and allow you to get up close with feathered or scaled critters.

In Tyler, the National Historic District is also known as the Azalea District thanks to the prevalence of these colorful blooms. You can get incredible photos of historic structures dating back many years, as well as pictures of the flowers in full bloom. Between late March and early April, the city hosts the Azalea & Spring Flower Trail to feature the vibrant flora in all their glory.
